Michael Caine has confirmed that the third installment to the Batman franchise is a long way off.
Caine has played Alfred Pennyworth in the two most recent Batman films Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. He hopes to reprise his role as the superheros butler in the new movie however, fears its going to take some time before this happens because director Christopher Nolan is very busy on other movies.
Caine said:
“Christopher is doing a picture called Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio which I saw on the Internet. So I imagine another Batman is quite a long way away.
“If they do another one, I’ll probably be the butler. I hope I’m still alive. Michael Gough, who played Batman before me, the last time he played in Batman he was 84.”
He is confident that Nolan will return to direct the next Batman movie and has dropped a hint that the next super villain will be The Ridder, who was originally played by Jim Carrey in the 1995 version Batman Forever directed by Joel Schumacher.
Producer Michael Uslan has estimated that it wont be until 2011 before this film will hit our cinema screens.
Its been a while in the making but finally its been confirmed that a third installment to the popular Sci-Fi movie Ghost Busters. As a nice surprise it looks like the original cast members Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd will be returning to reprising their roles.
Harold Ramis (writer-actor) confirmed Murray was 100% featured in the up coming sequel even though they are yet to discuss the project with each other.
Ramis said:
“Gene [Stupnitsky] and Lee [Eisenberg ], both of whom I mentored, are now writing the new Ghostbusters.
“I’m consulting with them, as is Dan Aykroyd and Ivan Reitman. Bill Murray is just waiting for the truckload of money to arrive to get him out of his office.”
Speaking about Murray, he added:-
“I haven’t talked to him about it. I want to talk to him about it eventually. I think we just need a script, because he’s the thorniest of the group.”
Shilpa Shetty may be taking up a major role within popular TV show Eastenders.
The Bollywood star is in talks with the BBC regarding joining the show in Albert Square later in the year as part of a new family due to be introduced.
The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant turned down a previous offer to appear in the show as Phil Mitchell’s love interest in 2007 so she could focus on her Bollywood career.
Now Shetty is planning to expand her UK career and working harder than ever! No doubt the move into her luxury £5 million home in Surrey with her partner Raj Kundra has something to do with it.
A family friend said:-
“springboard to long-term success in Britain”.
“She knows all about the show as it is a big hit in her homeland - and of course it is popular with a lot of Indians in the UK,” the source added. “Prime time exposure several times a week on mainstream English TV will do her career the world of good. All sorts of roles and deals could follow.”
The 33 year old doesnt look like she will be slowing time as she is also investigating other projects for consideration. Her agent Max Clifford said she is holding meetings with TV chiefs “on a range of projects”.
James Bond has been voted the most lethal lover in cinema history.
Not surprising though because not only does he put it about a bit by bedding 51 women over 22 films but many seem to end in a body bag -16 to be precise. It was Jill Masterson (Shirley Eaton) who started the trend after a fling with Sean Connery in Gold Finger she wound up covered in gold paint and dieing of skin suffocation.
Roger Moore was pretty deadly having over a quarter of his conquests bite the dust and George Lazenby even lost a wife. If you want to get it on with any of the James Bond’s then you best make it Timothy Dalton who must have been the safest 007 to sleep with as non of the women he seduced died unlike Pierce Brosnan who managed to get three of his lovers killed.
It turns out that Daniel Craig is the most dangerous Jame bond to get in bed with. He has only played the secret agent in two movies he has seen off three women!!
Well its now been confirmed that Ashley Jenson will be leaving Ugly Betty even though she denied rumors of this nature only a few months ago!
Jenson plays Betty’s best friend Christina McKinney in the US drama, so no doubt it will be an emotional departure. She is set to leave the show at the end of the current season.
The scottish actress has already got other projects lined up and has been cast in CBS comedy pilot Accidentally On Purpose. She will play a movie critic based in San Francisco who has a fling with a younger man which results in her being pregnant.
Executive producer for Ugly Betty Silvio Horta said:
“While we’re sad that Ashley will not be returning next season as a series regular, she is still a member of the Ugly Betty family. So don’t be surprised if you see Christina pop back up in Betty’s life.”
Home and Away are planning to introduce a storyline involving two of it characters starting a lesbian love affair. This has caused outrage amongst some family groups.
The start of their relationship is due to air this month in Australia between Police women Charlie Buckton (Esther Anderson) and female deck hand Joey Collins (Kate Bell). Conservative family groups have expressed their disgust and feel its completely inappropriate for this story line to be adopted within the shows 7pm PG rated time slot.
Pro-Family Perspectives director Angela Conway said:-
“Home And Away continue to market to kids and they continue to develop quite sexualised plot lines. The plot lines that young kids and teenagers should be presented with should be about really authentic relationships that are not just sexualised.”
Esther Anderson, playing part of the lesbian duo defended Home And Away saying:
“You learn pretty much everything at school. I don’t think it’s like I’m lifting the lid on something they don’t already know about.
“To me there’s no difference - love’s love. The fact that your partner’s the same sex is no different. You just want to be loved.”
Its isn’t the first time Australia soaps have had problems with lesbian plot lines. In 2004, Neighbours was in trouble with similar groups when they aired a lesbian kiss between schoolgirls Lana Crawford (Bridget Neval) and Sky Mangel (Stephanie McIntosh).
Karl Bishop, 22, is jailed for life for the murder of Harry Potter actor Rob Knox.
Bishop stabbed Rob Knox five times outside the Metro Bar in London last year and wounded three of his friends - one of which was stabbed in the neck causing permanent spinal damage.
The minimum sentence he will serve is 20 years in prison with no option of parole before then! however, he has also been given another 3 concurrent life sentences for the injuries he inflicted on Knox’s friends.
Mr Justice Bean sentenced Bishop - he said:
“lack of regret let alone remorse was truly chilling”.
“I do not think it is proved that you intended to kill Robert Knox. The truth is that you simply could not care less whether you killed him or not.”
Bishop denied murder and other counts of wounding even though eye witnesses watched the event occur. He claimed that he was acting in self defence even though there was overwhelming evidence suggesting the opposite and that Knox was in fact protecting his younger brother from Bishop when he was killed.
Knox’s father said:-
“We are enormously relieved justice has been done, although there is nothing that will compensate for the shattering sense of loss.”
It also came to light that Bishop has previously been involved in a knife-point robbery but had not been charged.
Knox had just finished filming on Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince as Marcus Belby - due to be released in July 2009.
ITV soap Emmerdale welcomes Kitty McGeever. She will play Lakely, an old friend of Lisa Dingle’s - She will be serving a community sentence for a petty crime within the show. I think she will be an interested addition to the TV programme due to the fact she is blind.
McGeever lost her sight at the age of 33 through an illness and will be the first blind cast member Emmerdale have signed. She will arrive on the TV show in the spring and her character is said to cause friction within the town from the get go, with menacing behaviour and little concern to others. However the the true nature of her visit to the village is still a secret.
McGeeevr said:
“I’m thrilled to be joining Emmerdale as Lizzie and delighted that the show is challenging stereotypes in this way. Lizzie spells trouble from the word go and will be causing all kinds of strife in the village.”
Series producer Gavin Blyth commented:
“Kitty is an extremely talented actress and I’m pleased that she will be joining the show, marking the arrival of such a fascinating character. Lizzie is forthright and fun and she’ll soon prove that she isn’t afraid to manipulate circumstances to her advantage.”
“She’ll no doubt ruffle feathers and make friends in equal measure, and we are looking forward to embracing the opportunity to explore how the residents of Emmerdale react to that.”
As expected, it was Slumdog Millionaire that took most awards at the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles last night. It won an incredible 8 awards including best picture, best director, best adapted screenplay, the score, song, cinematography, editing and sound mixing.
Also actress Kate Winslet finally got her Oscar after 5 failed nominations for best actress for her role in The Reader’. Micky Rourke didn’t duplicate his Bafta success as Sean Penn took away the award for Best Actor for his role in Milk.
Danny Boyle was thrilled with his win for Best Director saying:-
“My kids are too old to remember this now, but when they were much younger, I swore to them that if this miracle ever happened that I would receive it in the spirit of Tigger from Winnie The Pooh and that’s what that was.”
Other winners were the late Heath Ledger for best supporting actor in The Dark Night for his portrayal of The Joker and Penelope Cruz won best supporting actress for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
First there was Meet The Parents and then there was Meet The Fockers but now a new sequel is due called The Little Fockers.
It has been confirmed that Ben Stiller will return as Gaylord Focker whilst Robert DeNiro will revive his role as disapproving father in law Jack.
Others also being cast for the comedy sequel are Pam Byrnes (Teri Polo) as Gaylords wife and Kevin Rawley (Owen Wilson) who had cameo roles in the first two films being Pam’s x boyfriend adored by her parents in ‘Meet The Parents’ and the priest who married them in ‘Meet The Fockers’. However, he is to play a much bigger part in this movie.
The film will not be directed by Jay Roach like the previous two because he is still busy working on other projects however, David Wain, Paul Weitz and Peyton Reed are all being considered.
