Heroes Writers Get Fired

The NBC have decided to shake things up by firing two of their writers who had been there from the beginning.

The victims were Co-exective producers Jesse Alexander and writter Jeph Loeb, they were also responsible for the day to day production of the TV show under the guidance of creator Tim Kring. They got the chop after a fall in ratings following the third season even though Universal Media Studios have gone over their budget of $4mill per episode.

It has now been left for Tim Kring to dig the show out of this hole and bump up its ratings. It is still promising that a fourth season of the show will arise but sheds of doubt are looming.

Its been confirmed that Catherine Tate and John Simm will be returning to the new season of Doctor Who next year.

Catherine Tate will be back again as wacky assistant Donna Noble and John Simms as the Doctors arch enemy The Master.

A Who source told The Sun: “Fans will be delighted to see Catherine back. She was one of the wackiest companions of all time and she brought heaps of humour. And it’s great to have John back - he and David Tennant have a real nemesis chemistry.”

Red Dwarf fans will be happy to hear that the popular TV show should be back on our screens soon. The cast are to reunite for a few short shows to be broadcasted on ‘Dave’ in 2009.

Red Dwarf was a very successful TV programme in its day, it started in 1988 and ended in 1999. It ran for eight seasons and to this day i have no idea as to why the BBC didnt pursue a ninth season despite it huge commercial success.

Some of you may already know but a new addition to the Terminator series is due out soon called ‘Terminator Salvation’ . The Terminator himself (Arnold Schwarzenegger) viewed footage of the new film and admitted that he wasn’t moved.

He was shown a “sizzle reel” by producers of the film and told the Los Angeles Times that he is reserving judgment.

He said: “They showed me some footage, but I don’t have a feel for the movie. I didn’t see enough. I wasn’t sure who the Terminator was. I don’t know if there is one or if he’s the star or the hero. These are the things that determine the success and how strong the movie will be.”

The 61-year-old Hollywood star turned governor of california said that he doesn’t regret leaving acting for politics:-

“When [Terminator Salvation] comes out, I won’t be sitting there saying, ‘Why can’t I do that?’ I hope it makes a lot of money and is very successful.”

The Dark Knight’s12A certificate was under scrutiny this week as The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) came under fire by Keith Vaz of the Home Affairs Select Committee, who was less than happy that the film has a 12A status due to its violence and bleak tone.

Keith said “The BBFC should realise there are scenes of gratuitous violence in The Dark Knight, to which I certainly would not take my 11-year-old daughter. It should be a 15 certificate.”

However, the BBFC defended its decision, as the film never showed any violence in explicit detail.

Sue Clark from the BBFC said giving the film a 15 rating would prevent the majority of the Batman fan base from watching it.

“Younger teenagers would not have been able to see it, and they are the very people who are going to love it,” she explained. “We would have ended up with far more complaints from people who wanted to see the film and couldn’t.”
