Some how the new X-Men movie was leaked online just a month before its release date in the states. Hugh Jackman has expressed his disappointment over the leak and his disgust to who ever was responsible.

It has been confirmed that about 100,000 people illegally downloaded the semi complete movie from sharing websites before it was identified and removed before anyone else could do the same. The film is due to be released on the 1st May this year in the US and 29th April in the UK.

Jackman said:-

“It’s a serious crime and there’s no doubt it’s very disappointing. I was heartbroken by it. Obviously people are seeing an unfinished film. It’s like a Ferrari without a paint job.”

Jackman then teased fans with a 20min preview of the film at the event.

With the Films industry struggling at the moment, it is sad to see this situation constantly occurring for the sake of saving £5 for a cinema ticket. If this continues it could see the end of big movie blockbusters like this in the future.

The FBI are still investigating where the leak came from and 20th Century Fox have put their foot down regarding this incident. Having insisted that who ever was responsible would be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law”.

Michael Caine has confirmed that the third installment to the Batman franchise is a long way off.

Caine has played Alfred Pennyworth in the two most recent Batman films Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. He hopes to reprise his role as the superheros butler in the new movie however, fears its going to take some time before this happens because director Christopher Nolan is very busy on other movies.

Caine said:

“Christopher is doing a picture called Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio which I saw on the Internet. So I imagine another Batman is quite a long way away.

“If they do another one, I’ll probably be the butler. I hope I’m still alive. Michael Gough, who played Batman before me, the last time he played in Batman he was 84.”

He is confident that Nolan will return to direct the next Batman movie and has dropped a hint that the next super villain will be The Ridder, who was originally played by Jim Carrey in the 1995 version Batman Forever directed by Joel Schumacher.

Producer Michael Uslan has estimated that it wont be until 2011 before this film will hit our cinema screens.

Its been a while in the making but finally its been confirmed that a third installment to the popular Sci-Fi  movie Ghost Busters. As a nice surprise it looks like the original cast members Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd  will be returning to reprising their roles.

Harold Ramis (writer-actor) confirmed Murray was 100% featured in the up coming sequel even though they are yet to discuss the project with each other.

Ramis said:

“Gene [Stupnitsky] and Lee [Eisenberg ], both of whom I mentored, are now writing the new Ghostbusters.

“I’m consulting with them, as is Dan Aykroyd and Ivan Reitman. Bill Murray is just waiting for the truckload of money to arrive to get him out of his office.”

Speaking about Murray, he added:-

“I haven’t talked to him about it. I want to talk to him about it eventually. I think we just need a script, because he’s the thorniest of the group.”

The wait is almost over and X-Men fans will finally find out about Wolverines past in this new Marvel movie due to be released in April 2009.

Its been a long running secret as to what happened to him from the first X-men movie, with him getting close to the truth during the second X-men film but it still remained unclear what really happened to him in the past - how he came to have an adamantium in-cased skeleton and why him and (Victor Creed) Sabertooth are mortal enemies.

The film is obviously a prequel, set 20 years before the first X-men movie and will also show other characters from the hit cartoon series such as Gambit and Deadpool etc.. It will also shed light on his relationship with William Stryker who he left for dead in X-Men 2.

X-Men Origins is the first of many spin off movies planning to be developed such as Gambit, Deadpool and probably the most anticipated after this movie is the story behind Magneto and Professor X - how two strong alleys and best friends turn to be mortal enemies. Hopefully it was also explain how Xavier ended up having to use electric wheelchairs to get around but although it has a script, its still in very early stages and anticipated to be released in 2011.

The next installment of the new superman movies is soon to be in development but it looks like Lex Luthor is has reportedly been axed as the main villain as Warner Bros want someone new to be the baddie.

Warner Bros has asked writers to come up with ideas for another bad guy for the new movie which has already been titled as Man Of Steel.  Kevin spacey played Superman’s Arch-Nemesis in the most recent film Superman Returns but the new movie is said to take a new direction and the first step towards this is to change the villain - other changes may follow.

Warner Bros have still not been able to agree with a villain they are happy with as of yet and even investigated old ones such as General Zod who appeared in Superman and Superman 2 . However, they haven’t ruled out ideas for a brand new bad guy for the new film.

Although the fourth film in the series of Terminator movies is yet to be released (2009), it has been reported that the Halcyon Company, run by Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson who own the rights to the Terminator franchise have begun working on a fifth installment with Terminator Salvation director McG.

The original plan was to wait until Terminator Salvation had been aired before moving on with another addition to the sci fi movies but due to the huge amount of positive feedback they received from preview footage and trailers they have decided to press forward with a fifth film with an anticipated release date for 2011.

“We feel the time is now to start shaping the next part of this,” said Kubicek

There is also speculation of a third movie to make up a second trilogy of the popular sci fi adventure and with Christian Bale playing the adult version of John Connor signing up for a three-film agreement with Halcyon, it would seem its almost a certain it will happen.

Arnold Schwarzenegger can’t return to the big screen to play his part as the terminator due to his other commitments as governor of california but they will show footage of him all dressed up in his motorcycle boots, jacket and sun glasses throughout the film.

Heroes Writers Get Fired

The NBC have decided to shake things up by firing two of their writers who had been there from the beginning.

The victims were Co-exective producers Jesse Alexander and writter Jeph Loeb, they were also responsible for the day to day production of the TV show under the guidance of creator Tim Kring. They got the chop after a fall in ratings following the third season even though Universal Media Studios have gone over their budget of $4mill per episode.

It has now been left for Tim Kring to dig the show out of this hole and bump up its ratings. It is still promising that a fourth season of the show will arise but sheds of doubt are looming.

Its been confirmed that Catherine Tate and John Simm will be returning to the new season of Doctor Who next year.

Catherine Tate will be back again as wacky assistant Donna Noble and John Simms as the Doctors arch enemy The Master.

A Who source told The Sun: “Fans will be delighted to see Catherine back. She was one of the wackiest companions of all time and she brought heaps of humour. And it’s great to have John back - he and David Tennant have a real nemesis chemistry.”

Red Dwarf fans will be happy to hear that the popular TV show should be back on our screens soon. The cast are to reunite for a few short shows to be broadcasted on ‘Dave’ in 2009.

The whole cast Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules, Robert Llewellyn and Chloe Annett are to appear in four, 30 minute, special shows with new material and some old footage from the TV classic.

Red Dwarf was a very successful TV programme in its day, it started in 1988 and ended in 1999. It ran for eight seasons and to this day i have no idea as to why the BBC didnt pursue a ninth season despite it huge commercial success.
