As most of us know, David Tennant is due to leave Doctor Who at the end of the current series this year and producers thought his final eposide on the show should be spectacular!

Its been arranged for many of the the old cast members to return such as Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman, Catherine Tate. Even John Simm will appear in last show reprising his role as the Master - Doctor Who’s nemisis.

Although expected, this episode will also see The Doctor regenerate into the eleventh Doctor Who - Matt Smith.

An insider said:

“This will be the most exciting episode Doctor Who have ever done. We really wanted to get all the companions back on board as a fitting send-off to David and of all the enemies for him to face in his final episode, it makes sense for The Master to be the main one”

“Getting Billie to agree is a real coup, but she loved working on the show so much it didn’t take much convincing.”

Well its probably been the most publicised fight against cancer but unfortunately Jade Goody died on Mothers day morning aged of 27 in her sleep at her home in Essex.

The X Big Brother star was diagnosed with cancer back in august 2008, it was only confirmed to be terminal last month after they had discovered that it had spread to her liver, bowel and groin. This lead to her rapid decline in health. She died in her sleep at her home in Essex.

Jackiey Budden confirmed:

“Jade died at 3.55am this morning. Family and friends would like privacy at last.”

She was very open to the press about her final months battling with the illness which unintentionally encouraged many young women to also get screened for cancer.

Her publicist Max Clifford said:

“I think she’s going to be remembered as a young girl who has, and who will, save an awful lot of lives.”

The main reason of course for her selling her story to newspaper and magazines was to secure the future of her young sons Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.

Clifford added:

“She was a very, very brave girl. And she faced her death in the way she faced her whole life - full on, with a lot of courage.”

Jade Goody has but only days to live according to doctors and she has now felt the time is right to tell her kids that she is ‘going to heaven’.

The x big brother star who has terminally ill cancer, spoke to her two young sons Bobby, five, and four-year-old Freddie during one of their final visits to her bedside.

Max Clifford publicist said:-

“The boys went to see her and she was aware of them for a brief moment or two. She saw them and she smiled,”

“She has put her house in order and faced up to everything in an incredibly brave way. Now we’re waiting for the inevitable. It could be at any time, we just don’t know.”

Jade said this to her sons:-

“Mummy’s going to heaven soon. I’m going to be a star up in the sky, so when you are looking up you will be able to see me and know I’m there.

“Mummy’s going to be up there looking over you. Close your eyes and you can talk to me.”

Jade almost didn’t have this chance to speak to her children as on Friday her condition deteriorated rapidly, her husband Jack hurried to her bed side.

Well its now been confirmed that Ashley Jenson will be leaving Ugly Betty even though she denied rumors of this nature only a few months ago!

Jenson plays Betty’s best friend Christina McKinney in the US drama, so no doubt it will be an emotional departure. She is set to leave the show at the end of the current season.

The scottish actress has already got other projects lined up and has been cast in CBS comedy pilot Accidentally On Purpose. She will play a movie critic based in San Francisco who has a fling with a younger man which results in her being pregnant.

Executive producer for Ugly Betty Silvio Horta said:

“While we’re sad that Ashley will not be returning next season as a series regular, she is still a member of the Ugly Betty family. So don’t be surprised if you see Christina pop back up in Betty’s life.”

Home and Away are planning to introduce a storyline involving two of it characters starting a lesbian love affair. This has caused outrage amongst some family groups.

The start of their relationship is due to air this month in Australia between Police women Charlie Buckton  (Esther Anderson) and female deck hand Joey Collins (Kate Bell). Conservative family groups have expressed their disgust and feel its completely inappropriate  for this story line to be adopted  within the shows 7pm PG rated time slot.

Pro-Family Perspectives director Angela Conway said:-

“Home And Away continue to market to kids and they continue to develop quite sexualised plot lines. The plot lines that young kids and teenagers should be presented with should be about really authentic relationships that are not just sexualised.”

Esther Anderson, playing part of the lesbian duo defended Home And Away saying:

“You learn pretty much everything at school. I don’t think it’s like I’m lifting the lid on something they don’t already know about.

“To me there’s no difference - love’s love. The fact that your partner’s the same sex is no different. You just want to be loved.”

Its isn’t the first time Australia soaps have had problems with lesbian plot lines. In 2004, Neighbours was in trouble with similar groups when they aired a lesbian kiss between schoolgirls Lana Crawford (Bridget Neval) and Sky Mangel (Stephanie McIntosh).

ITV soap Emmerdale welcomes Kitty McGeever. She will play Lakely, an old friend of Lisa Dingle’s - She will be serving a community sentence for a petty crime within the show. I think she will be an interested addition to the TV programme due to the fact she is blind.

McGeever lost her sight at the age of 33 through an illness and will be the first blind cast member Emmerdale have signed. She will arrive on the TV show in the spring and her character is said to cause friction within the town from the get go, with menacing behaviour and little concern to others. However the the true nature of her visit to the village is still a secret.

McGeeevr said:

“I’m thrilled to be joining Emmerdale as Lizzie and delighted that the show is challenging stereotypes in this way. Lizzie spells trouble from the word go and will be causing all kinds of strife in the village.”

Series producer Gavin Blyth commented:

“Kitty is an extremely talented actress and I’m pleased that she will be joining the show, marking the arrival of such a fascinating character. Lizzie is forthright and fun and she’ll soon prove that she isn’t afraid to manipulate circumstances to her advantage.”

“She’ll no doubt ruffle feathers and make friends in equal measure, and we are looking forward to embracing the opportunity to explore how the residents of Emmerdale react to that.”

Mickey Rourke was favourite to win an Oscar for his performance in The Wrestler but as we all now know, he was beaten at the post by Sean Penn for his role in the Milk.

Rourke has not a bad word to say about the man that stole his Oscar saying he was ‘pleased’ that Sean’s work in Milk had been recognised and had been rewarded.

“He’s a great actor and a great friend of mine,” he said. “He deserved it.”

Penn had previously helped Rourke through some hard times which Rourke had been very thankful for saying:-

“He got hold of me and told me exactly what to do and not to do.”

Rumours of feuding between the two have been dismissed after they were seen enjoying drinks in Hollywood earlier this month.

As expected, it was Slumdog Millionaire that took most awards at the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles last night. It won an incredible 8 awards including best picture, best director, best adapted screenplay, the score, song, cinematography, editing and sound mixing.

Also actress Kate Winslet finally got her Oscar after 5 failed nominations for best actress for her role in The Reader’. Micky Rourke didn’t duplicate his Bafta success as Sean Penn took away the award for Best Actor for his role in Milk.

Danny Boyle was thrilled with his win for Best Director saying:-

“My kids are too old to remember this now, but when they were much younger, I swore to them that if this miracle ever happened that I would receive it in the spirit of Tigger from Winnie The Pooh and that’s what that was.”

Other winners were the late Heath Ledger for best supporting actor in The Dark Night for his portrayal of The Joker and Penelope Cruz won best supporting actress for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

There are tough times in TV and Christine Bleakley has felt it having been asked to accept a pay-cut for presenting The One Show with Adrian Chiles.

Bleakley has been on £100,000 contract with the BBC and has now confirmed a further 2 year contract deal  but at a much lower salary than she is used to.

A source said:

“The BBC played serious hardball over this. Their view was that nobody is worth holding on to at any cost anymore. They figure there are plenty of stars out there who can replace people who demand too much.”

However she hasn’t caused a fuss and excepted the amended deal. The reason being that she enjoys working on the show and understands the financial pressures the BBC is under due to the current economic climate.

Well its almost that time of the year when the red carpet is lit in Hollywood.

On the 27Th February Hollywood will be bursting full of high profile actors and actresses dreaming of winning an Oscar for the work they have put into movies and films from the past year.

The Oscars started in 1927 at M-G-M’s studio by Louis B. Mayer and three of his guests – actor Conrad Nagel, director Fred Niblo and producer Fred Beetson who decided to create an organisation where members of the film industry were credited for there participation. Winners are awarded with what used to be called ‘The Academy Award of Merit’ which is now more commonly know as an ‘Oscar’ after Academy librarian, Margaret Herrick, remarked that the statuette resembled her Uncle Oscar, and the staff began referring to it as such.

The Oscars have grown to be the most pretigious award given to someone in the film industry.

This year there is a bit of a dog fight for the big awards ‘Best Actor and Actress’ with nominees such as Mickey Rourke, Brad Pitt and Sean Penn for Best Actor and Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep and Angelina Jolie for Best Actress. Rourke and Winslet won a Bafta (Britains version of the Oscars)  earlier this month for the same category.

However, winning isn’t everything! The little Statue is just the icing on the cake when there are a range of Promotional Merchandise are available for just appearing to the show. In past years it has included the latest ultra-thin mobile phone, free holidays, a $1,500 voucher for dinner a coffee maker, which together with a toaster and kettle carries a price tag of $700 - not bad for just turning up.

This year should prove to be an award ceremony to remember!
