The Saturdays have confirmed that they are feeling the pressure about the up and coming new Comic Relief Single they have been asked to release.
They will be recording a cover of Depeche Mode’s ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’. The aim is of course to raise money for charity but due to the success of previous singles produced for Comic Relief the nerves have started to set in.
Rochelle Wisem said:-
“There is a lot of pressure on us because Comic Relief singles have gone to No.1 in the past and we want to sell enough.”
Another member of the band, Frankie Sandford has said that she has approached her boy friend Dougie Poyner from McFly for his advice. McFly released ‘All About You’ for comic relief back in 2005 and was a major success.
“McFly did a good job and got really involved when they released a song for Red Nose Day, and Dougie and I talked about it, absolutely,”
“We discussed how it’s normal to want to get involved with things, and give it your best. We feel the same and just want to do our bit.”
Phillip Schofield is rumored to be getting paid 3 times more per show on the next series of All Star Mr than co-host Fern Britton which will no doubt cause a little tension between the two.
Schofield managed to land the deal as part of a £2 million golden handcuff deal with ITV. This means that he will get paid £45k per show whereas, Fern will receive £15k.
“Fern asked for the same pay cheque as Phil. But there isn’t a huge production budget,” a source told The Sun.
“Phillip’s pay is basically pre-agreed, while Fern is only on an exclusive daytime deal with ITV. Fern won’t be aware of this pay difference.”
Britton should have had a pay rise last year but because of the gastric band issue, she missed out on the opportunity.
It was a shock to most people when suprisingly Ulrika Jonsson won Celebrity Big Brother earlier this week, however producers were pleased that she won.
It was Verne Troyer who was the bookies faviorate, however he finished in forth place and Ulrika took the title against Terry Christian in the final vote.
When Divina called the results out, Ulrika said:
“Oh my God, that’s just bonkers! It’s a fix.”
Its been said by a shows insider that:
“It is good to get a shock every so often. The last series of Big Brother was incredibly predictable, as it was the previous summer. It’s quite nice when you end up with a result which takes some people unawares.”
The source added:
“The bookies definitely got it wrong this time but maybe they were too hasty in going all out for Verne. After all, Ulrika survived the public vote again and again so there was always a core of support there for her.”
Mobile phones have become so much more advanced in recent years and as we all know, its become increasingly easier to download movies onto your phone to watch where ever you like.
With mobile phones such as the Nokia 6500 Slide with its 3.2 mega pixel camera, it has become the norm for people to create there own videos and place them on many different social networking sites for others to view.
Mobile phones have already been very popular with the general public for downloading ring tones from many online sites, however movie download sites seem to be the next big thing, especially for people who generally have long distances to travel via public transport, the most common being students with a long commute.
TV is also now available to most phones now so its almost impossible to miss your favourite soaps or keep up-to-date with recent news etc…
It comes as no surprise that recent movie releases are the most common downloads to mobile phones and with the films industry constantly releasing various new movies regularly, it doesn’t look like this is going to change anytime soon. Movie rental establishments such as blockbuster has already started to feel the pinch after downloading movies to your computer became the big thing a while back, so i can imagine that movie downloads to your mobile phone is not going to do them any favours.

A film poster advertising ‘Righteous Kill‘ has caused offence at Stockwell Tube station. It was placed near where Jean Charles de Menezes (27) was shot dead after being mistaken for a suicide bomber.
To most people it may seem a little OTT for people to be offended by this as it obviously has no relevancy to the event that took place but it was the tagline that cause the stir, it read:-
“There’s nothing wrong with a little shooting as long as the right people get shot.”
The Advertising Standards Authority felt as though it did breach guidelines on decency and said:-
“We understood the siting of the poster at the station was unintentional, but nevertheless considered that the text had the potential to cause serious offence in that location,”
Posters such as this are becoming increasingly popular with film buffs nowadays especially canvas prints which are available on many online stores. Latest movie releases, actors and actresses seem to be the main focus for this kind product with images being copied and printed on canvas.
Although you would have thought that colored versions should be the most attractive, it seems like black and white prints have made the biggest leap in sales in recent months.
Laura White left the x factor a few weeks ago but things are already starting to look up for the X Factor evictee as its been announced that a duet with Adele is in the making.
“I was so excited when I heard what Adele had said because I am one of her biggest fans. She is incredible,”.
“I have spoken to her about it. She wants to do a duet and I really want to do it too, so it is just working out the timing.”
Her leaving the show caused a real stir with the general public and high profiled celebs such as Adele, who even complained to ITV about her dismissal - It even lead to a mentioning during commons question time.
“I think about all the people who have come out in support of me and I think I’m just little Laura - if you saw where I was from and I used to play tiny jazz bars to four people.
“When you leave The X Factor you think, ‘oh, is that it now for me?’ And I worked so hard to get there, but there are still so many people who believe in me,” she added.
Ricky Gervais has said that he doesn’t want want celebs David and Victoria Beckham to feature in future episodes of his hit TV show Extras.
The reason for this bizarre claim is because the couple worked with Sacha Baron Cohen for an Ali G sketch on Comic Relief and he feels it would be a copycat idea.
“The Beckhams would be huge and we could do loads with them but I think Ali G got in first,” he told The Sun.
“At risk of sounding like an egomaniac, working with the Beckhams would only interest me if it was my idea. It wouldn’t feel particularly exclusive.
“They are great but there is not a magazine that you open up and they’ve not been in.”
Ricky isn’t too beat up about it though because he is planning to book such Hollywood stars like Al Pacino, Danny DeVito or Michael Douglas for one-off episodes of the comedy series.
John Sergeant has been the real under dog from the beginning. He has two left feet and gets a fist pull of negative comments and low scores from the judges every week, however the public love him and vote him in regardless. Despite of this he feels its time to leave the show gracefully in case he wins.
Sergeant said:
“I am sorry to say I have decided to leave Strictly Come Dancing. It was always my intention to have fun on the show and I was hoping to stay in as long as possible.
“The trouble is that there is now a real danger that I might win the competition. Even for me that would be a joke too far.
“I would like to thank Kristina and all those viewers who have been rooting for me through the series.”
He has caused a right stir with the judges who have been appalled that he has stayed in this long. Arlene Phillips said he needed to work harder as it was unfair on other ’superior dancers’ who had been knocked out and Bruno Tonili has consistently showed his disgust at allowing him to stay in the competition.
“We are very sad to see him go,” said BBC One controller Jay Hunt. “We would have liked him to stay but we respect his decision to leave. John and Kristina will be performing a farewell dance this Saturday on the show.”
Since his decision to leave, everyone who slated him in the first instant seems to have changed their option and are now saying he should have stayed. I bet this wouldn’t be the case if he decided to come back!
Daniel Evans has defended his corner and smashes rumours that he used a ’sob story’ about his late wife to keep him in the show.
Evans wife sadly died soon after she gave birth to their first child. Before she passed away she had always tried to encourage Daniel to enter the X Factor but nothing ever came of it. She got all the required paper work to submit Daniel to the show and it wasn’t until after she died and he started to move her belongings he found the paper work. He felt it was his wife’s wish to enter the show and therefore showed up for the auditions.
Daniel was the under dog from the beginning and consistently received negative comments from Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell but still managed to hang on until this Saturday (week six of the live shows).
“When people were saying I had a sob story and I was using my wife’s death, that did hurt me a little bit, I would never play on it and I mentioned her because I was asked.”
The rumors began when during a sing off in one of the earlier live shows he dedicated his rendition of Josh Groban’s ‘To Where You Are’ to his wife.
“I honestly thought it would be the last time I ever sang on the show and the producers said, ‘You should sing something that’s really important to you’,” he explained.
“I sang a song for my wife because she got me onto the show so it’s only fair that I said goodbye on that note.”
Well it turns out that the rumours of Dannii Minogue not be returning to The X Factor in 2009 and being replaced by a young male star are false! She has insisted that she will be coming back.
This has been confirmed further by Simon Cowell, who has reassured her place in next years series.
Minogue said:-
I don’t pay attention to what everyone says,” she commented. “I am oblivious to the taunts. I just go to work and do my job and that’s all I’m focused on. I want to do it next year and I will be. As far as everyone involved is, that is the plan and Simon has said so.”
She has also banished rumours of feuding with new judge Cheryl Cole but admitted that working with Sharon Osbourne was a nightmare!
“This year is not as bad as last year because at least life on set is fun and everyone gets on. Last year was awful,” she said.
