Archive for March, 2008

Well it seems the rumours were true about a new Superman film, as Robert Meyer Burnett, videographer on the first Superman Returns wrote a brief Q&A article on BlueTights.net explaining about the filming schedule.

He gets asked if he is going to work on a sequel, to which he replies he is already working on the sequel and Bryan (director), Brandon and the rest of the cast are working on it too. Filming will begin on March 2008 and will not be affected by the WWII film Bryan will be shooting over the summer.

So this ends speculation about what is happening with the film…..brilliant is all i can say, as i throughly enjoyed the previous film and have been a follower of the Superman saga since i was 6.

When i have more pictures and information I will post them on here.

Vantage Point

Just a quick note to let you all know that i am going out tonight to see Vantage Point.

Having seen JFK a number of times im expecting something special. Something that can deliver an Oliver Stone type of performance. It should be noted that JFK initially performed rather slowly at the box office before gaining momentum and earning over USD $205 million. JFK then went on to win two Academy Awards having been nominated for eight.

I hope it is good as i will be writing a review of it on this site next week.

Muse comes to a cinema near you

In June 2007, Muse played one the new Wembleys first sold out concerts. Their performance underlined why they are one of the UK’s most successful bands as they played all of their hits from the album, Black Holes and Revelations.

If you were unlucky enough not to be there, then select Vue cinemas are screening the concert for a short time. There is the added bonus of Dolby Digital Surround Sound and High Definition. So this should be one show to enlighten the senses.

Batman, The Dark Knight Cometh

After going to the cinema at the weekend, i was rather delighted to see a brand new trailer for The Dark Knight.
I must say that usually films have fantastic PR and then fail to amaze when it counts. But this time i think we should be prepared for excitement this film will give.

Christian Bale is the man behind the mask keeping crime at bay in Gotham City. That is until the Joker played by the late Heath Ledger unleashes his terror upon the city. Batman is sure in for a fight to come through his most personal and vicious enemy yet.

Untraceable review

untraceableWith high expectations of this film. I was subsequently let down by the quality of Untraceable, when comparing to better films.

Diane Lane plays the FBI agent working within the cybercrime unit who is out to find the killer (played by Joseph Cross) who streams live videos of his acts of torture and murder across America via his website. The twist is, the more hits the website gets the sooner and more painful the victims die.

In one scene we see a man who is slowly boiled to death in battery acid. This really is the best scene in the film. I was really expecting more from this film, probably due to the excitement that the Saw films generated, where there really was nothing but horror, gore and an excellent plot line too.

I would hope that we wont see any sequels from this film, mainly to stop bordem. It really comes to something when i can take one of my friends to see this film, who is dead against horror and gore, and find her laughing at scenes that are supposed to shock.

I would imagine the main aim of this film was to show that we are turning into a society of voyeurs ready to use the internet to see the suffering of others. This could have worked better if the film was made or at least written by someone who knew how to truly shock us with film.

It is recommended that you wait for the dvd, as its not worth wasting a night out for.
