The ‘Incredible Hulk’ storms the box office and goes straight to number 1 this week.

The new ‘Incredible Hulk’ movie starts with Bruce Banner (Ed Norton) living peacefully without an ‘Incident’ for 158 days, learning new techniques to try and control his anger but still rigiously trying to find a cure for his condition with aid of an elusive ‘Mr Blue’.

He is soon discovered by his arch nemesis General Thunderbolt Ross (William Hurt) and all of a sudden Banner is back on the run again. After many failures trying to develop a cure, Mr Blue asks him to find the data base of research that was originally done on Banner before he went into hiding in Brazil, this unintentionally leads him back to his old flame Betty Ross (Liv Tyler), the generals daughter.

This explosive and action packs addition to the ‘Marvel Movies’ also sees a monstrous new adversary known as The Abomination (Tim Roth) who’s power is rivaled only by the Hulks and forces Banner to make a difficult decision: To be able to live a peaceful life as Bruce Banner or to trade in his deepest desire to stop The Abomination as ‘The Incredible Hulk’.

To my surprise i actually liked this film, most likely because it couldnt have got any worse than the 2003 addition directed by Ang Lee. i was concerned with the decision to cast Edward Norton as Banner but he in fact played the character quite well.

Mark Wahlberg has said that the Oceans Trilogy “sucked”.

He praised his own decision to turn down the part of Linus Caldwell in the movies because he felt that they were so poor!

“It was well worth it!” he told The Sun. “The second one sucked! People tell George Clooney it’s great, but we all know it sucked.”

Wahlberg had no problem with slating the Steven Soderbergh films dispite having his own fair share of big screen failures.

“I made two bad movies instead - Planet of the Apes and The Truth About Charlie.

“But doing that was better than sitting with Brad [Pitt] and George, telling the press how great everybody is: ‘We were in Europe, George was funny, then we had some wine…’ That’s not for me.”

Friday night and my father refused to speak to my mother in a dispute about her viewing Big Brother.

Never has the air been so tense in the household. Shock horror at my mother caught watching another episode of the “mindless idiotic show”. He asked her how could someone so intelligent sit and watch these idiots perform.

My Mum, however never ceases to be amused at the antics of these contestants. She loves the interaction between the people she is fascinated at what people will do in order to get food and treats. She likes to watch the dynamics of the group how they collect like packs and pounce upon the weakest most vulnerable members of the the group and then go in for the kill.

She cannot stop laughing at the round foreign lady Kathreya whose interpretaion of the teletubbies had her falling off her chair.

Shame we cannot all share in the same humour

The New Batman film, The Dark Knight, is a 2008 American superhero film directed by Christopher Holan, is the sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins.  Christian Bale appears as the lead role.

Batman’s main conflicts in the film are with The Joker played by the late Heath Ledger, who has created a terrifying, psychotic version of the character, and his strained friendship with district attorney, Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart).

Nolan decided to make the movie as he was inspired by the Joker’s first two appearances in the comics and Batman: The Long Halloween.

The Dark Knight  starts with Batman beginning to succeed in getting rid of the criminals that infests Gotham City. He is surprisingly challenged when the Joker, a mysterious criminal mastermind appears in Gotham. Batman’s and the Joker’s confrontations becomes personal, forcing him to improve his technology to stop the Joker’s campaign of destruction.

Michael Caine stars as Alfred Pennyworth, who is Batman’s butler and father figure who looks after Wayne Manor.

Jack Nicholson, who played the previous role of the Joker was not invited to replay the part said:

“You can’t believe the reasons things do or don’t happen. Not asking me how to do the sequel is that kind of thing. … Maybe it’s not a mistake. Maybe it was the right thing, but to be candid, I’m furious.”

The co-creator of Batman: The Animated Series,Paul Dini commented of Ledger’s portrayal of the character by saying,

“He seems more street than any other version of the Joker. … His attitude is mordant and sardonic as opposed to manic. … No goofy gags or puns for him. This Joker doesn’t split sides: he splits skulls.”

The film will be dedicated to the memory of Heath Ledger who tragically died on the 22 January 2008.

The Dark Knight will be in cinemas on the 25 July 2008.  A fantastic film not to be missed!!

Hayden Becomes A Popstar!

Hayden Panetierre who plays Claire Bennet in the top US show Heroes, has shown that she is multi-talented by landing a record deal just before she started to work on the well known show.

The 18 year old’s debut single, `wake up call’ from the up coming album is a reggae-flavoured pop song by the same team of songwriters who have written for Westlife, Diana Ross and Geri Halliwell.

Let’s hope she can use her super-powers to take her singing career to the top of the charts!

Lead story imageClaire Young was robbed of the top prize in the final of The Apprentice. Lee’s forgetfullness about his time spent at university did not seen to matter to Sir Alan when it came down to the crunch. My bet is that no way could he have managed strong minded  ”tell it as it is”  Claire. i think he took the easy option and personally I  was very surprised at his decision.

I feel that this is sending out all the wrong signals to young people who will now think it is acceptable to bend the truth when applying for a job. As for his spelling mistakes! How easy is it to click on spell check. Mega mistake.

In the real world his CV probably would not have got past the waste paper basket! Come on Sir Alan admit you made a mistake.  From what I hear he no longer works for Sir Alan anyway. What went wrong?

‘This Morning’s favourite daytime TV presenter Fern Britton admitted that her drastic weight loss was not just due to dieting alone.

Fern, wife of celebrity chef Phil Vickery, lead us all to believe that her new slim figure was gained because of her new hobby, cycling and a healthy diet, but when finally confronted and challenged had to admit she had help!.

Thousands of fans were disappointed that the daytime star had been economical with the truth about her weight loss, but she denies that she mislead the public. Personally i think she should have come clean about it a lot earlier, she has obviously used this method of a last resort and should have owned up to having surgery. Read the rest of this entry »

It is appararant that anonymous emails have been recieved by the Apprentice finalist saying that ‘they wish he was dead’

The BBC is conducting a full investigation into the orignal of the emails as they take the safety of the shows contestants very seriously.

Guy Burnet who plays Craig Dean returns to Hollyoaks later this year in the hope to rekindle his relationship with John-Paul played by James Sutton.

He left the soap last August to go to Trinity College in Dublin after his affair with Jean Paul was exposed during an engagement party for him and Sarah. He will return soon after the village finds out that Jean Paul is having a relationship with Father Kieron Hobbs.

Guy said:-

“I’ve had so much support from the McDean fans since I left the show and so it’s great to have the opportunity to reprise the storyline and give viewers a resolution to the Craig and John Paul story.”

Producer Bryan Kirkwood added:-

“The Craig and John Paul story is one of the biggest and most successful that Hollyoaks has told, winning many awards and legions of fans. I’m delighted that Guy has agreed to come back and excited to see how viewers will react to what we have in store.”

Sharon Osbourne gave Simon an ultimatum, either he fired Danni Minogue or she walks. It turns out that a salary dispute had nothing to do with her leaving the show and that Danni was the real reason she no longer wants to return for the latest series of The X Factor.

Walsh told the sunday mirror:-

“It’s not contracts or money, it’s Danni. They don’t get on at all and she wasn’t happy with the situation. Sharon has walked off, she’s gone. Why didn’t they give Danni the boot instead?”

Walsh has also not confirmed if he will be returning to the show, he said:-

“I haven’t signed yet but I am negotiating, it’s a difficult situation. Sharon is a great friend, I talk to her everyday. She is devastated and so am I. I have absolutely no relationship at all with Danni. I have no idea how she is feeling about all of this because I simply do not talk to her.
