It was only last Friday when Oscar winning Jennifer Hudson’s (Dream Girls) mother and brother were shot dead at their family home. Her nephew has been missing since, until now.

Police had launched a search for Julian King and a reward for $100,000 was offered by Julian’s family for his safe return.

Chicago police have now found the seven year old’s dead body in a car, abandoned on one of Chicago’s streets. The body was identified by Hudson at the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police are still looking for the person responsible for the murders but as of yet no one has yet been charged.

Fern Britton had been struggling with depression and has recently revealed that she attempted suicide during this bad patch in her life.

Fern said that it all started after she was caught drink driving in a friends car back in her early 20’s. She says that being banned from driving, she started to feel isolated and then depression kicked in.

When she was 25 the TV presenter did get her licence back however, this was in the wake of a breakup witha long term boyfriend.

“One afternoon I decided I couldn’t bear the pain any longer, and I sat down and opened a bottle of paracetamol,”

“All I wanted was to sleep, sleep, sleep. I tipped the bottle, poured myself a handful of pills and swigged them down with whisky. I didn’t take the whole bottle, as if I didn’t know whether or not it was what I wanted.”

It was a former boyfriend who came to the rescue. He called her sister soon after she took the pills who lived nearby and informed her of the situation. Fern said she was “lucky” to be alive.

Mariah Carey is promoting her new single ‘I Stay In Love’ and will be doing so on The X Factor sometime next month.

“Mariah is one of the most successful female artists of all time,” a source told The Sun. “It’s going to blow Strictly Come Dancing out the water.

“Simon loves Mariah - he’s always comparing acts to her. And finally all the compliments have paid off. It’s amazing to have such a big name singing on a British talent show.”

Mariah is only one of the big names to be seen on the show, others such as Britney Spears, Will Young and Beyoncé are also scheduled for the hit Saturday talent show in the next following months.

X Factor Bosses were not at all pleased to find out that Beyoncé has agreed to appear on Strictly Come Dancing before she is to appear on the X Factor.

Beyonce is promoting her new single I am Sasha Fierce and had agreed to be on the X Factor in December however, Strictly has got her on there show in November!

“As far as we are concerned we are the No1 show on Saturday. If X Factor wants Beyoncé, they’ll have to wait. She has signed and we’ve also got Take That confirmed for the coming weeks,” a BBC source said.

An X Factor Source said  “We aren’t happy Beyoncé is doing Strictly, but she is just one of a number of huge names we’re getting,” the source said.

I was personally a little shocked to see Ruth in the bottom two last week on Saturday nights X Factor and even after her fantastic version of Purple Rain, could have still be given the boot from the previous poll however, that all may have been due due an error in the telephone voting numbers.

This was highlighted by Fans of Spanish singer Ruth Lorenzo who complained because the wrong number was shown at one stage during the programme.

“We tried for an hour and a quarter, but the lines were busy all the time,” Lorenzo’s mum Eva told The Mirror.

“Then we suddenly realised the number shown on TV was wrong.”

ITV denied this effected the overall outcome resulting in Ruth fighting for her place against Girlband.

A spokesperson commented: “During one short sequence, a single digit was missing from Ruth Lorenzo’s vote number.

“The incorrect number was on screen for less than three seconds, and this was accompanied by an audio announcement giving the correct number.

“The error would not have changed the outcome of the vote.”

Richard McCourt confirmed that he used to take drugs however, stopped due to his doctors advice.

McCourt, presents the children’s TV show ‘Dick and Dom in the Bungalow’ and was filmed during a night out admitting to taking drugs in the past.

He was asked if he had ‘white powder’ on his nose, he said:-

“No… I do not take drugs. You know why? I’ve got a heart problem,” he said.

He continued to confirm that he used to experiment with drugs:-

“When I was young. I am not allowed to do drugs anymore. My doctor said to me, ‘Don’t take drugs again or you will die.’”

Extras to return!

There is talk that there may be another Extras episode in the mix. Ricky Gervais has admitted that he would like to make another ‘Christmas Special’ however, co-writer Stephen Merchant is against the idea.

Ricky believes that the lead character ‘Andy Millman’ has still got more potential unlike his office creation David Brent.

“I think it would be funny to see Andy trying to make it in Hollywood,” he told Zoo.

“The problem is, I don’t think [co-creator] Stephen Merchant wants to do it. But I reckon he will if I insist!”

Christian Slater has spoken out about his drinking problem which started after he hit his partner (at the time) Michelle Jonas.

The Holly Wood star, who will remember from such movies like Broken Arrow & Churchill: The Hollywood Years hurt his one-time partner back in 1997. He opened a bottle of champagne following the incident and as a result didn’t stop drinking for another two years.

Slater said: “For a certain period of time I met a girl, got involved with her, and it was pretty much brought into that relationship all the tools that I had at that particular time, which was jealousy, insecurity, neurosis, fear, paranoia - not the best tools to enter into a relationship.

“I found myself at home one night with a bottle of champagne, popped the cork, poured the glass, said ‘God keep an eye on me’, downed the drink and went on this phenomenal two-year run where I pretty much drank my way around the world,” he said.

Kim Crowther (the producer of Corrie) has confirmed that some of the Morton family may be making a return to the ‘Coronation Street’ next year.

The Morton family was axed this year. The only one saved from the chop was Daryl due to his established connections with the Platt family.

“We had a big story for the Mortons (the poisoning) but I think they had been too long on screen without a story and so people were saying ‘Who are they?’ and ‘What’s their purpose?’ I actually think that since Teresa came in - played by Karen Henthorn - they suddenly started to make sense. But unfortunately, we felt it was too late.”

She added: “That doesn’t mean we won’t see any of them again - some of them I’m hoping to bring back - but I think it’s really hard to establish such a big family all at once.”

According to Daniel Craig, it would be better for an American to play the smooth talking secret agent 007 ‘James Bond’ than a British actor - bit strange as James Bond is British!.

The Hollywood heart throb, who plays James Bond for second time in ‘Quantum Of Solace’ feels that the British sense of self-mockery takes something away form the character and that ‘Brisishness’ could be the down fall of the spy character.

“I am always trying to self-mock. I am trying to put it down or to laugh it off but you have got to be careful because false humility is not a great trait,” he said.

“Sometimes I wonder if it would be easier if I was American, because I am deeply English.”
