John Sergeant has been the real under dog from the beginning. He has two left feet and gets a fist pull of negative comments and low scores from the judges every week, however the public love him and vote him in regardless. Despite of this he feels its time to leave the show gracefully in case he wins.
Sergeant said:
“I am sorry to say I have decided to leave Strictly Come Dancing. It was always my intention to have fun on the show and I was hoping to stay in as long as possible.
“The trouble is that there is now a real danger that I might win the competition. Even for me that would be a joke too far.
“I would like to thank Kristina and all those viewers who have been rooting for me through the series.”
He has caused a right stir with the judges who have been appalled that he has stayed in this long. Arlene Phillips said he needed to work harder as it was unfair on other ’superior dancers’ who had been knocked out and Bruno Tonili has consistently showed his disgust at allowing him to stay in the competition.
“We are very sad to see him go,” said BBC One controller Jay Hunt. “We would have liked him to stay but we respect his decision to leave. John and Kristina will be performing a farewell dance this Saturday on the show.”
Since his decision to leave, everyone who slated him in the first instant seems to have changed their option and are now saying he should have stayed. I bet this wouldn’t be the case if he decided to come back!
Daniel Evans has defended his corner and smashes rumours that he used a ’sob story’ about his late wife to keep him in the show.
Evans wife sadly died soon after she gave birth to their first child. Before she passed away she had always tried to encourage Daniel to enter the X Factor but nothing ever came of it. She got all the required paper work to submit Daniel to the show and it wasn’t until after she died and he started to move her belongings he found the paper work. He felt it was his wife’s wish to enter the show and therefore showed up for the auditions.
Daniel was the under dog from the beginning and consistently received negative comments from Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell but still managed to hang on until this Saturday (week six of the live shows).
“When people were saying I had a sob story and I was using my wife’s death, that did hurt me a little bit, I would never play on it and I mentioned her because I was asked.”
The rumors began when during a sing off in one of the earlier live shows he dedicated his rendition of Josh Groban’s ‘To Where You Are’ to his wife.
“I honestly thought it would be the last time I ever sang on the show and the producers said, ‘You should sing something that’s really important to you’,” he explained.
“I sang a song for my wife because she got me onto the show so it’s only fair that I said goodbye on that note.”

Twilight has just hit the cinema screens and plans to turn the film into a movie franchise are on the way!
The story is based around a set of indie graphic of novels. It sees Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) move to Phoenix high school after her mother remarries, the move takes her to a small rainy town called Folks. There she meets an unusual character, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) who she falls for and learns his dark secret - he is a vampire! He hasn’t aged since 1918, is super fast and incredibly strong. He is different to the stereotypical vampire as he doesn’t have fangs or drink blood and his family are unique from others of there kind due to their life style choice.
Edward believes that Bella is the soul mate he has been waiting for, for the last 90 years but as their romance starts to blossom he finds it increasingly difficult to subside his most primal instinct which could cause him to go on an uncontrollable frenzy - this is made more complicated when his mortal vampire enemys show up in town looking for Bella.
A bit more movie news for you, as Indie studio Summit Entertainment has started on the next two installments ‘New Moon’ and ‘Eclipse’ from Stephenie Meyers best selling series. They have even reserved the rights to a fourth movie ‘Breaking Dawn’ but no development has taken place as of yet.
Friday Night With Jonathan Ross has been removed from broadcasting following the BBC’s ban on Jonathan Ross due to his poor behaviour with Russell Brand after making a prank call to Faulty Towers Andrew Sachs during his radio 2 show.
Its replacement will be Live At The Apollo which is a British stand-up comedy programme performed from the Hammersmith Apollo, previously hosted by Jack Dee.
The first installment will be hosted by Michael McIntyre and is due to be recorded later next week. The programme is only due to replace Jonathan Ross’s TV show until his suspension is over in January.
Dannii Minogue flew off the handle with x factor bosses backstage, after the editing of a clip with her and Rachel Hylton.
The clip seemingly showed Dannii allowing the singer to pick her own songs and suggested she was giving her act more control over her performances than she has done.
It was obvious on the night she was disgruntaled about the footage from her comments after Rachel’s preformance. She said:-
“I just want to clear up one thing, we work on songs together every week. It was misconstrued in that video.”
This has all been lead on further by the media as last week it appeared as though Rachel may have fired Danni as her mentor, however these rumours were quickly disregarded by Dannii who continued to support her act saying that:-
“diva portrayals in the press were unfair”
Well it turns out that the rumours of Dannii Minogue not be returning to The X Factor in 2009 and being replaced by a young male star are false! She has insisted that she will be coming back.
This has been confirmed further by Simon Cowell, who has reassured her place in next years series.
Minogue said:-
I don’t pay attention to what everyone says,” she commented. “I am oblivious to the taunts. I just go to work and do my job and that’s all I’m focused on. I want to do it next year and I will be. As far as everyone involved is, that is the plan and Simon has said so.”
She has also banished rumours of feuding with new judge Cheryl Cole but admitted that working with Sharon Osbourne was a nightmare!
“This year is not as bad as last year because at least life on set is fun and everyone gets on. Last year was awful,” she said.
David Tennant has commented on making Billi Piper his replacement on the hit TV show. Billie would be the first women to play the doctor if it were to happen.
He was asked on BBC Breakfast if Piper could land the role, he said:-
“Why not?”
Tennant added: “I think she’s busy breast feeding at the moment but I’m sure she’ll bounce back before long. It’s one of those parts that any actor could bring something valid to, because it can be anything and it’s a sort of blank canvas every time,” he said.
“The fact is that the difference is a virtue with each Doctor. It’s not like you’re casting Tarzan where you’ve got to have somebody who looks good in a loin cloth - it can be anything.”
Although Jonathan Ross has been suspended for twelve weeks due to his antics with Russel Brand in October, he has been allowed to film the celebrity edition of The Apprentice.
The show is for comic relief. Ross will not be taking any payment for presenting the show as its for charity and the fact that Sir Alan Sugar offered him the role back in May and it will not be aired until 3 months after his suspension is finished, the BBC allowing this to take place as a one off.
A BBC insider said: “Jonathan was in a difficult position as his suspension came just days before filming began on the show. Pulling out at such short notice would have left producers with a headache.”
A spokesman added: “The BBC agreed to Jonathan Ross taking part in an advance recording of Comic Relief Does The Apprentice. The BBC did not wish to disadvantage the charity.”
