Christopher Nolan has admitted that he is concerned that the third installment to the Batman sequels he will directs, will not be as good as the others.

Both films, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were a major commercial success but Nolan doesn’t believe that second sequels are ever as popular than the originals as they tend to be sub-par.

“I don’t know why they’re hard to do. Maybe there’s so much expectation to them. I wouldn’t want to do one if it weren’t going to be as good as the first or second. That’s not respectful to the fans,”

The director doesn’t want a third movie to take away the hard work he put into the first two, especially after re-newing peoples excitement over the Batman franchise.

“It was obvious when the box office was so big that we had underestimated how ready fans were to reboot the franchise,” he said. “The worst thing you could do now that you’ve gotten the plane back in the air is mess up the landing.”
