With the final 14 episodes of the final eighth season of popular medical drama House underway again here in the UK, there were many viewers who were hoping that one of the show’s former stars would be back before the curtain draws on the long-running TV series.
Lisa Edelstein, who played the Dean of Medicine and Dr House’s love interest at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, left the show at the end of the last season, but many romanticists would have liked the relationship to have rekindled before the story closed.
However, in keeping with Hugh Laurie’s Dr House, that was never going to be in the script and it is more likely that the character will leave the show in a way which is much more typical House fashion.

The Artist, a silent French production, filmed in black and white, was the surprise winner at this year’s Oscars, marking a fitting tribute to the “magic of the movies” theme, epitomised by Morgan Freeman’s introduction.
Hollywood showed it does sometimes give recognition to world cinema by presenting Michel Hazanavicius and Jean Dujardin with awards at the 2012 ceremony.
In a celebration of its French roots, the film industry was united in giving The Artist the praise it deserved at the Academy Awards, with the film picking up four Oscars in total including the coveted Best Picture and Best Director honours.
In the build up to the 84th Academy Awards there was restrained optimism that the likes of Kenneth Branagh, Janet McTeer and Gary Oldman could continue the recent success of the Brits at the American film industry event.
Even though it was just last year, it now seems a while ago since The King’s Speech collected four Oscars at the ceremony, following on from Slumdog Millionaire which stole the show back in 2009.
The Artist was always going to do well at the 2012 ceremony, but the fact that only The Shore managed to pick up an award in the live action short film category meant that it was quite a disappointing year for the Brits, especially since we had high hopes in the technical and acting categories.
It may not give away much about the new 007 movie, but the hordes of James Bond followers will just be glad for something, following the release of the first picture showing Daniel Craig in Skyfall.
The film is not out until October 26 so all fans have for now is just the usual internet rumours regarding the storyline and cast details which have revealed Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes are involved with the production.
All that is known about the 23rd Bond is that the super-spy will have to track down the perpetrators of an attack on MI6, while facing complications regarding his relationship with M (Judi Dench).
